About Me: I'm a 22 year old tax accountant, like the staff tab says on the side bar! I'm unmarried, child-free, and current own no pets, although I intend to get a cat at some point after I move out of the apartment complex I'm in. I do keep one really cute boy in my house, though, and he's pretty great. Most of my free time goes towards hanging out with him, studying for the CPA exam, or PTU! Otherwise, I'm usually found reading whatever trashy fanfiction I'm on at the moment, or occasionally even picking up a real book. I occasionally play video games, but that's also a hobby that I just don't tend to have as much time for lately. I like to think I'm pretty easy to get along with as long as you follow the golden rule of "Don't Be A Dick". If I do something that offends you, bothers you, whatever, let me know and I'll consider stopping.
General Roleplay Experience: I spent most of my high school years doing shitty freeform roleplays on Gaia and a few other sites, and wishing that there was actually a group willing to tabletop with me, because I thought that D&D sounded /so cool/. Then I actually got a chance to play and after several really fucking shitty starts that ended due to a range of reasons including disgusting levels of racism and shitty parties who wanted to play on their phones instead of play the damn game, I gave up on tabletop for a few years. Got back in after I transferred to Bucknell University and joined two clubs absolutely stuffed with board game, tabletop, and larp fanatics. Tried DND again like twice, before finally accepting that it's /really/ not my game.
PTU Experience: Not long after I gave up on DND, I found PTU in 2014 and decided to give it a shot. Got a small group together who figured out the rules with me, one of whom ended up enjoying the system enough that he still players, and that game lasted with a rotating cast until we graduated and it just kind of fell apart. I had started a second group at some point of players from PTf, and as of the day of this post, that game is still going pretty strong and has been running over a year. I also run a version of that same campaign over PBP, and recently started a crossover game over PBP as well. I've come to the realization that I might be more of a GM than a player in most cases, but I've also played in a few campaigns that have died (Therus, Arena of a Thousand Swords, Corraba) and a few that are still running (Kelele 2, Castle Claystone, Fallout Mon). Outside of my existing live games, I've by and large switched to PBP and don't think I'll be giving any more live games a chance unless one of my existing games finish.
PBP Experience: I'm running two PBP games now, one crossover and one version of my live Geode game. In addition, my RT game used to run pbp in between sessions for roleplay's sake. I was in Therus for I think over a year until it died, and I'm still in two pbp games now. I also did a lot of freeform roleplay when I was younger through PBP, including the very first version of the Geode Islands campaign when I was back in high school that lasted about a week because pokemon is really goddamn hard to roleplay without /structure/. That version exploded in depth and was almost completely rewritten and rebuild when I started it in PTU, of course.
Me as a GM: In pretty much every game I run, you can expect some similar traits. I like pokemon that are reasonably to even human level intelligent, I /hate/ classes that give players excessive agency, and I like to homebrew mechanics, items, and subsystems in the game. If you apply for one of my games, you should absolutely expect fakemon, custom items, and pokemon that will totally judge you for being an asshole and attacking them without provocation. I like to give my players restrictions on character development, or bonus edges and such, to see what sorts of interesting characters are developed. I also like to think that I'm pretty open as far as changes, and you shouldn't ever hesitate to try and talk to me if you're having issues. It's worth mentioning that when it comes to my pbp games, I will absolutely judge your spelling/grammar/punctuation and general english, and I don't accept players if they can't demonstrate an ability to communicate well. It's nothing personal, and I apologize for the hang up, but it's not going to change.
Me as a Player: I try to post frequently, aiming at a post a day for all of my games, but there are times of the year when I may lag a bit. This will be most notable during the months of Feb-April, because I hate myself and I decided to be a tax accountant. I usually play female characters and you can usually expect a significant amount of investment in backstory, personality development, etc. I like to try out new classes when I build a new character, and I try heavily to roleplay within the constraints I've set for myself with that character. I'm not going to put effort into a character, and then have her do things that are completely out of character and against her motivations just because it would mechanically benefit me. I /usually/ tend to play intelligent characters with one edu skill as a main skill, but I've been trying to play more characters that branch away from my typical archtype.
I welcome the use of this thread for feedback on me as a player or GM. If I've played with you, and there's something you'd like to bring up, you are welcome to do so and I'll respond appropriately. If you have a question about me in general or anything to do with the contents of this post, you are equally welcome to ask and I will attempt to provide a response.
